FAQ
1. What should I bring to the massage?
You don't need to bring anything; we provide everything necessary for a relaxing rest. For those with longer hair, we also provide hairpins and hair elastics!
The traditional treatments are performed in attire specifically designed for this purpose, which we provide, and we kindly ask you to wear it before the massage.
If you're coming for an oil massage, feel free to bring a change of underwear in case it gets oily during the treatment.
2. How should I prepare for the massage?
Please avoid eating right before the massage if possible. A feeling of fullness can hinder relaxation and disrupt your ability to unwind.
If you have a cold or any illness, please cancel your appointment. We look forward to welcoming you back once you're feeling better!
3. What information do I need to share before using the service?
Any information related to your physical condition, such as varicose veins, surgeries, prosthetics, etc. Please inform us about these so we can provide your relaxation with the necessary care and attention.
4. Why is rest necessary after a Thai massage?
Thai massage has an intense effect on the body, which is why a short rest period is recommended after the treatment to help the body recover more easily. It's also a good idea to drink plenty of water after the massage to aid in detoxification.
After every massage, we offer our guests a cup of special Thai tea, which can be enjoyed in a relaxing atmosphere.
5. Are there any contraindications for Thai massage?
Thai massage is not recommended if you are pregnant, have serious health issues (such as heart diseases, bone and joint problems), or have any acute inflammatory conditions. If you are unsure, please consult with your doctor before the massage. During pregnancy, our therapists do not perform foot massages, and after the third month of pregnancy, we only offer gentle oil massages in a side-lying position upon request. Traditional Thai massage cannot be performed in such cases.
6. How long does the massage last?
The duration of each treatment corresponds to the time you choose, and the therapist will perform the massage for that length of time. During the massage, the therapist may briefly leave you to wash their hands after the body massage, to ensure that the head, neck, and shoulder massage can be done with clean hands. Our booking system is set up to ensure there is enough rest time after each massage so that the therapist can welcome the next guest with renewed energy.
7. How can I pay?
You can pay for the service online with any Visa or Mastercard-branded bank card.
On-site, in addition to cash, we also accept payments by bank card and all three Hungarian-issued SZÉP cards.
If you have a gift card or a pass, please present it to the receptionist or the therapist for validation. The price of our services includes everything related to the massage, so no additional payment is necessary, but if you'd like to reward your therapist for their work, you can do so in cash at any time.
8. What is the temperature in the salon?
We maintain a comfortable temperature of 23-24°C in our salon for the massage, as we know that it's hard to relax when you're shivering from the cold. In addition, our mats are equipped with heating, which we can turn on during the massage if you'd like. If that's not enough, we can provide extra bath towels at any time to ensure you're comfortable even during a longer foot massage.
9. What is the massage aftercare tea made from?
Our massage aftercare tea is made from three different teas that are prepared alternately by our therapists each day.
The first is Butterfly Pea Flower tea, derived from a tropical plant native to Asia and other warm climates. This plant is known for its butterfly-shaped flowers and vibrant blue color. The tea made from it is famous for its striking blue hue, and it is attributed with various health benefits. Rich in antioxidants, it may help reduce stress, improve memory, and promote healthy skin. In some regions, the flower is used for culinary purposes and can act as a natural food coloring. Additionally, it is used in traditional medicine to treat various neurological issues, inflammation, and digestive disturbances.
The second ingredient is Bael fruit, a tropical and subtropical fruit native to India and Southeast Asia. The Bael fruit has a hard shell and a sweet, aromatic pulp containing seeds. It has been used in traditional Indian Ayurvedic medicine for centuries due to its nourishing and healing properties. Bael fruit is rich in antioxidants, helps with digestion, boosts the immune system, and has anti-inflammatory effects. It is also used in the treatment of respiratory problems, such as cough and asthma, and can aid in managing diabetes by helping regulate blood sugar levels.
The third tea is Cha Tra Mue Red Tea, which comes from Thailand and is very popular in the local culture. Rich in antioxidants, it helps neutralize free radicals, contributing to anti-aging effects. Thanks to its caffeine content, the tea also has a mild stimulating effect, enhancing focus and concentration. Red tea is known for supporting digestion and soothing the stomach, and it helps with hydration as it is refreshing but not too strong.
10. How do you ensure cleanliness?
In our salon, we ask that you change into slippers provided by us upon entering, and we disinfect these slippers with a sanitizer spray after each use.
The fabrics on the massage tables and mats, which come into direct contact with your skin, are changed after every massage without exception. These fabrics are then washed twice in a row at 60°C: first to remove the accumulated oils, and the second time to eliminate any remaining dirt. This ensures that our textiles are always clean and fresh-smelling.
11. Is this really just a massage?
At Aura Traditional Thai Massage, yes, our therapists exclusively perform massages. When selecting our team, we took great care to choose professionals with genuine expertise and extensive experience. We specifically avoided any therapists who engage in erotic services, which are sometimes referred to as "white massages" in Thailand. We've created a space where, regardless of age, gender, or marital status, you can feel safe visiting us and recommending our services, without the risk of an uncomfortable experience for anyone you refer to us. Our therapists refuse any requests outside of the traditional massage services we offer.
